When I pictured freelance work, I always visualized the romantic notion of working at a coffee shop.
But let’s be real: That’s not my everyday situation. It’s not even a common occurrence for me. But, of course, a perk of freelancing is being able to work from anywhere, and that includes in my own home.
I love my bed. I also love my reading chair. I like my desk, but it’s just not as comfy, especially if I’m having a flare from my back pain. So when I can work on my computer in bed or in my chair, I do. And one item I didn’t realize I’d use all the time is my lap desk.
I first thought of getting a lap desk when I read this blog post by Ginger Horton on the Modern Mrs. Darcy blog. My local B&N happened to have the one she linked to, so I went in person to check it out and ended up purchasing it that same day. And I kid you not, I use this thing every single day. Ginger mentions carrying hers from room to room, and I do that too. The one I have is very lightweight, which I also appreciate.
So if you’re like me and you spend a lot of time in your bed or favorite reading chair, consider trying out a lap desk!
What’s something you’ve received as a gift or bought that makes your day a little better? I’d love to hear!
